Ash Rapids can be reached by boat, a twenty minute ride from our landing, or by float plane. Our camp consists of ten guest cabins, each providing unique and varying amenities. We are located in majestic surroundings, near the east side of the La VÉrendrye WildLife Reserve, on the North arm of the Baskatong Reservoir, at the mouth of the Gatineau River. It is an exceptional site with an abundance of wildlife. The northern pike, walleye and speckled trout will overwhelm even the most experienced fishermen by their vigour and quality. You can bring your food and opt for the European plan (freezer service available), or take advantage of our excellent dining room on the American plan. We also have a billiard room, a licenced bar and a small convenience store for basic necessities to make your stay more enjoyable. We take your comfort at heart !
Gowganda Lake is one of a string of lakes through north-eastern Ontario. The one thing all these lakes have in common is the presence of gigantic trophy Walleyes. We offer multiple Northern Pike fishing opportunities. Not only do we have fantastic Smallmouth Bass fishing in Gowganda Lake, we have five backcountry lakes that are just stuffed with bass. We have two backcountry lakes with Brook Trout. Dobie Lake and Tiger Lake are our two backcountry lakes that have been stocked with Splake. When you arrive at our 4-star facility, you will find six tastefully pine interior decorated lakefront cottages. Of these cottages, three are chalet style and three are bungalow style.
Austin's Wilderness Lodge is located on the famous Albany River System. As such the fishing is awesome year around. This is a superb Walleye fishery. Catching your limit anytime is not a problem. You can count on a daily shore lunch in any number of beautiful spots. Northern Pike grow quite large here often going over forty inches. These fish put your line to the test! The seven cabins have indoor restroom facilities with access to the shower house. Cabins 1,2,3 and 7 have showers in them as well. All of the cabins are housekeeping and include all the utensils you will need during your stay. Internet is available at the Lodge. There is a spacious fish cleaning house with a freezer to store your fish.
